Before You Travel

We can’t wait to welcome you to Prague! To make sure your journey is smooth and enjoyable, we’ve prepared this checklist and a few practical tips.

Travel Checklist:

• Passport & Visa: check that it’s valid for 6 months; non-EU participants may need a visa.
• Travel insurance: always recommended – better safe than sorry.
• Flights: book to Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG).
• Accommodation: book your hotel before 14 September 2026 to secure the special rate.
• Registration: early bird closes 30 May 2026, regular closes 15 October 2026.

Practical Information:

• Currency: Czech Crown (CZK). Cards are widely accepted.
• Electricity: 230V, plug type C/E.
• Time zone: Central European Time (UTC+1).
• Language: The official conference language is English. No translation provided.
• Weather: November is chilly (3–9°C). Bring warm clothes and maybe an umbrella.

Getting to the Hotel:

Public transport is easy, reliable, and inexpensive. From the airport:

• Buy your ticket — At the airport, there are ticket machines. Purchase a 90-minutes standard PID ticket. This single ticket covers your journey across bus, metro, trolleybus and tram
• Catch the bus (line 59) — At either Terminal 1 or 2. It runs every 5–10 minutes to Nádraží Veleslavín (final stop).
• Transfer to metro at Nádraží Veleslavín — Exit metro at Hradčanská. Look for tram line 25 heading toward Malovanka (tram stop)
• It’s just a short ride, about 4 stops to Malovanka.
• Walk to the hotel — From Malovanka stop, it’s a 100 m walk down the street—you’ll see the Pyramida Hotel entrance on your right.

Total travel time: around 35–45 minutes, including transfers.

Taxi or Ride-App Options

• If you prefer convenience, apps like Bolt, Uber, or Liftago work well in Prague. A ride to the hotel typically costs 400–600 CZK (~€15–25) and takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic.
• Traditional airport taxis are more expensive (often ~700 CZK or more) and some travelers report price issues—so ridehailing apps may be a better choice.
